Honeybee Bilingual Children’s Center is committed to creating a safe,
warm, and loving environment for the children. A place where they can
learn, and grow physically, emotionally, creatively, intellectually, and
socially at their own pace.
We want to help your child increase their
confidence and self esteem by treating them as a unique individual, and
allowing them to express themselves in a variety of facets. We strive to
make your child’s time at HBCC the best possible learning experience,
both for the children as well as the families.
We are committed to supporting all families by maintaining open
communication and encouraging parental involvement in our programming
and care activities. Our objective is to care for your child with love and
compassion, as family.
HBP’s mission is to create a community of lifelong bilingual learners that nurture students from different backgrounds to reach their full potential and inspire them to contribute to the world with confidence, creativity, curiosity and compassion. Our program will provide the opportunity for the children to develop confidence in exploring the wonder of creating their own meaning through language development, creativity and collaboration. At HBP we believe that “Play is a legitimate right of childhood, representing a crucial aspect of children’s physical, intellectual, and social development.” We encourage children to discover their potential while being creative and using their imagination.
We use the Creative Curriculum (Bilingual System) which provides
teachers with unit lessons and a wide variety of activities and books in
Spanish and English designed to fully develop the child in these domains:
cognitive, social- emotional, mathematic, English language acquisition,
physical, science and technology, social studies, art, literacy and
language
Experiences with many different types of materials allow children to explore and discover, concentrate and carry out plans, develop new motor skills and controls, and help the children express their feelings, as they create and recreate.
This area will positively affect visual discrimination, verbal expression, and creative thinking. It will also enrich their vocabulary in both Spanish and English, their awareness of sequential events, stories, and listening skills.
Children will learn songs, singing games, rhythm activities, music appreciation, creative movement, and the playing of instruments.
The children participate in role- playing, acting out feelings and emotions as they interact with other children. This also allows them to practice language and social skills and experience future life roles.
The children experience mathematics as they play in, describe, and think about their world. We develop skills in number recognition, counting, sorting, building shapes, finding patterns, measuring, and estimating.
This area of the program will encourage the child to explore, question, and discover. It will also help to develop skills in using scientific methods of problem solving, observing, identifying, predicting, and testing predictions.
